What we're about: Explanation: 1, 2, 3
Gappy Tooth Industries was formed with the intention of promoting artists (including ourselves) and encouraging creativity. And we the founders, of the band abel-jones, wanted to put ourselves on. 'Tis true.

Taken from July 18th 2002 night. PlastisceneWith our monthly showcase events we aim to provide an outlet for anyone wanting to perform or exhibit their material. No genre (or medium) is privileged within this space, in fact we endeavour to always juxtapose contrasting interests so as to present as varied a night as possible.

Anything is up for consideration providing it falls within boudaries of time, space and the law!

Any profits made from our showcase events go into financing the next Gappy Tooth Night. Artists therefore will not necessarily receive payment.

Taken from June 6th 2002 night. crowd shotUnfortunately this extends to a limited guest list policy at present, although those actually performing or exhibiting will obviously not pay.

There are however opportunities for artists to sell their work at the venue, for which we take no commission.

The man himself. He hasn't played at a GTI event yet.T. S. Eliot said that "comparison is the foremost tool of the critic". Good for him. Gappy Tooth Industries say that contrast is the greatest trick of the promoter. Great for us.

Gappy Tooth Industries is styled as a shot in the arm of the traditional pub backroom rock gig. Formed by four musicians who often found themselves staring bored into their lager halfway through most Oxford gigs, GTI is an attempt to approach such events in a slightly more open-minded way. We prefer to see art standing or falling on its own merits, not smoothed safely into a genre: therefore, should one of Oxford's metal bands wish to play, they would be welcome, allowing that they didn't mind sharing the bill with a trad jazz quartet and a Tuvan throat singer.

Taken from July 18th 2002 night. Without ReasonAfter only two events, GTI had already featured folk rock, avant-pop, punk, grunge, performance poetry, filthy goth-funk and a startling exhibition of photography. Come along and see an eclectic mix of the most exciting artists in a range of fields from Oxfordshire and beyond.

Gappy Tooth Industries is a way for three blokes to lose money, but enjoy doing it.

Ha.

If we're lucky, we won't actually lose too much money.
